Pick Your Cleaning Tools Wisely
Depending on your tiles, you will require different cleaning tools and cloths for the cleaning process. For wall tiles, we recommend a microfiber cloth, whilst for floor tiles, we suggest a chamois-style mop over a sponge or fabric-type mop. Not only will this prevent washing dirt into your grout joints, but it will also leave fewer streaks on polished tiles! Don’t Neglect Your Grout
No matter how clean those tiles are, dirt and mould can quickly gather in your tile grout, impairing the look of the whole room. To help give your grout a new lease of life, a homemade solution of baking soda and vinegar can be used to create a paste, which is effective in cutting through dirt without causing damage. Simply apply the paste with a toothbrush or small paintbrush, leave for 15-30 minutes, rinse, and wipe clean with a microfibre cloth.
Work From Top To Bottom
If you have wall tiles, a splashback or a bathtub surround, be sure to start cleaning from the top down. Just like window cleaning, this increases the efficiency of your cleaning session, as you won’t have cleaning products dripping on your already cleaned areas. Sounds like common sense - but always worth the reminder!
